About us

Friends of Maidenhead Waterways works in partnership with RBWM to manage and maintain the newly restored waterway channels that run through the centre of Maidenhead.

The once derelict waterway is already a defining feature of the slowly regenerating town centre. The York Stream arm of the consented plans is now open to navigation, so our aim is to maintain what we have so far and progressively enhance the entire 'green and blue' waterway corridor to further improve the bio-diversity of the waterway, while enhancing this major new public amenity for the active (...canoes, paddleboards and small boats) or passive (...walkers and nature lovers) enjoyment of everyone who lives, works or spends their leisure time here.

With most new development in the town centre being flats, the waterway corridor acts as everyone's 'garden', providing vital shared public open space and amenity that we can all enjoy, with room to breathe and the health and wellbeing benefits that follow.

Thank you for your support and please don't forget .... "Its for All of Us"....!!

Yours sincerely,

Richard Davenport - FoMW Chairman
